Occult detective Ariel Moravec investigates the theft of a mysterious grimoire.

As Ariel Moravec starts her training as a magician and amateur sleuth, her studies are interrupted by the disappearance of what might well be a a powerful work of black magic.

At the same time she gets involved in the search for a long dead pirates hidden treasure and soon realises that she is not the only one looking for it and these treasure seekers will stop at nothing to find it
