In August of 2003, Billy’s twenty-six and a half year marriage broke down. Things were tough and at times it was a lonely existence, which sometimes left him in a vulnerable place. But being a firm believer in fate, a strange encounter with a Chinese lady called Fengqin, through his bus driving job was to change all that. This distant friendship, eventually resulted in Fengqin returning to China to visit her family in 2005.

Before her departure, Billythoughtfully remarked, “Fengqin, when you are in China for the next few weeks, will you have a look for a Chinese woman for me?”

On Fengqin’s return, this casual remark by Billy sparked a chain of events and encounters that led him to take his first of ten trips to China. The first being in November 2005 to meet Hong Wei, who was later to become his wife.

Documenting his very personal journey, Billy gives a detailed insight into his experiences in China, its people, customs, culture, food and the enthralling places he visited while he was there. A really interesting read for anyone who loves a true story, travel and an unusual twist
