You Have Only One Life; Make It Count!: Living a Life of Significance, Relevance and Impact

Michael Hutton-Wood

This book explains the fact that you and I do not have two lives; rather we have just one life here on earth and we must make sure it counts in relevance, significance, impact, influence, addition, and contributions to humanity, society, and in nations. We can’t laze around all day doing anything meaningful with our lives and expect a different outcome for our lives. We must be aware that ‘There is a time for everything’ as King Solomon stated categorically in Ecclesiastes 3.

Also, it does not matter how young or how old we are, we have something to offer and to contribute to making our generation and those coming after us better than we met it. It has been said that ‘To be born into a poor family is excusable but to leave it in the state you met it i.e. still poor, is inexcusable and unforgivable’ considering all the knowledge we’ve acquired, all the information we’ve been exposed to, all the opportunities available to us, all the new things we’ve learnt, etc. We can do far more because we know far more. When you know better, you do better. You and I have only one life and we must make it count. It is appointed unto man once to die but the end is judgment and accountability i.e. how we lived our lives; if we lived just for us or we committed our lives to developing ourselves to add value to ourselves in order to add value to others and to solve problems.

God did not create you to be a wandering generality but a meaningful specific.

It is time to:
Let the earth know that you are here and to let those who come after you’ve finished your assignment on earth know that you were here. You must leave an indelible mark and a legacy of great achievements that benefits and will continue to benefit generations yet to come.

Zig Ziglar said: Don’t become a wandering generality. Be a meaningful specific.

We were not created, birthed, or born to be a wandering generality but a meaningful specific. Until we individually and collectively do what we were born for and created for, we will never feel fulfilled in life. God created you for a reason far bigger than just living, going to work, or making a living. You were born to make a difference and to make your life count.

Contrary to what many believe: You were not created to make a living but to make a difference; to make an impact everywhere you go.

The Good News is: LIKE ABRAHAM, YOU ARE NEITHER TOO OLD NOR TOO YOUNG LIKE DAVID OR UZZIAH TO SUCCEED OR FULFIL DESTINY.

It’s never too early or too late to succeed or fulfill destiny. You are only old if you think you are. The best way you stay young is to keep your mind young through addiction to information, revelation, wisdom, and insight and staying passionately occupied through diligence i.e. hard and smart work and adding value in your field of calling. Whether you think you can or you can’t, you are right, because you are what you think and this book will help you think right to achieve the right goals.

This book helps you to answer these questions:

A: Why Did God Create Me? B. What was I born for? C. Why am I here? D. What am I here for? E. What legacy will I leave behind i.e. what will I be remembered for?
