This book centers on World War II and the men that served during that period. The prelude to the Battle of Britain saw the squadron patrolling the skies above Dunkirk during the evacuation from the beaches of the British Expeditionary Force and French Forces; the air war in the sky over Southern England; taking the war to the enemy before the Normandy invasion, and through to the Liberation of Europe. During all of these momentous events No. 266 (Rhodesian) (Fighter) Squadron and its personnel were there. No other Squadron has possibly had such a colourful history in operational sorties and aircraft types as this squadron.
