One Friday afternoon 2000 years ago, a man died, and changed the course of human history. This book invites you to take a new look at who that man was. You will not find the familiar comfortable figure you learned about in church and school RE lessons. This Jesus is very different.

The novel traces the story of a man who was fully human, with a human father, human wife and human children. Part of the freedom struggle against a corrupt and dictatorial local government, supported by foreign oppression, we follow his attempts to feel his way through the minefield of Jewish and Roman politics in first century Palestine. This man shares our doubts and fears and struggles to find a meaning to his life and work, while facing apparent failure in his main task.

Although set in first century Palestine, this is a very modern book. The Jesus you will find here you could find in the local market or high street. The issues he faces are very modern ones, and the individuals he meets, you, the reader, could just as easily meet. At the end of the novel you will be met with two fundamental questions - Who was this man? - and - What exactly did he do?
