In Sudan a young Nigerian girl named, Chinwe, is abducted on her way home from school. Some weeks later she was brought ashore, with a number of other girls on a remote part of the English coastline. Chinwe seeing an opportunity to escape, didn’t hesitate in doing just that. Two lads camping close by were approached by Chinwe asking them for assistance. They agree, but Chinwe is now in a world she has no understanding, and having to place her trust in people offering help. But while they help is made with good intentions, be it children of her age or people living on the streets, the traffickers want her back and a few kids, or street people, will not get in their way. Even so, she remains steady in one belief, she will go home. But to do so, she must find someone who will take her to see Karen Harris, Commander of a European military unit formed to combat human trafficking. While Karen’s name is well known among the families of Africa, as one who will find a child and bring them home, to make contact with Karen is a daunting task. She’s based in France, works across Europe, has thousands of missing children in her books and flits constantly backwards and forwards between countries in her work. Chinwe’s resolve never wavers in her attempt to contact Karen, because without her help she may never get home. That for Chinwe is not an option.
