Celebrated for exploring the space between abstraction and figuration, this series of near-abstract female nude drawings represent an important period of exploration for British artist William Scott.

On the occasion of the centenary of his birth, this catalogue for an exhibition of Scott’s mid-century drawings at Karsten Schubert, London, exemplifies the artist’s interest in ‘the modern magic of space, primitive sex forms, the sensual and erotic, disconcerting contours, the things of life.’

Twelve full-colour drawings are accompanied by a text by Sarah Whitfield, which celebrates the artist’s exploration of nudity, and an essay on the importance of drawing by Scott himself.
