Bridget Riley: Paintings and Related Work 1983-2010
Lynne Cooke,Robert Kudielka,Bridget Riley
An exhibition of work by the British artist famous for making the mind boggle and see spots at the National Gallery. Bridget Riley’s ‘Paintings and Related Work’ focuses on her most recent paintings and includes two works which will be made directly onto the gallery walls. The abstract artist, famed for her pictures of spots and zig zag shapes, has been taking another creative track recently inspired by the Old Masters, and a copy of van Eyck’s Portrait of a Man (Self Portrait?) is among the exhibition highlights. There are nods from the artist to the National Gallery for the inspiration the artworks it houses have served Riley with.
