The Maine Coon Life

The book comprises twelve themed chapters. Each chapter begins with a full-page photograph of the two cats, with a facing page of text. The text is a colour-coded dialogue between the cats (Apollo’s words are orange, Artemis dark brown). This is followed by two pages of Polaroid snapshots of the cats, taped to a scrapbook. The remaining six pages of the chapter are full-colour, full-page photographs of the cats. The dialogue is very much from the cats’ point of view, and not always complimentary to humans. It relates not only to the cats’ daily life and their travels abroad, but also touches on cat psychology versus human psychology. Their writing is by turns erudite and comic: wit and feline foolishness run through each chapter. The themes of the twelve chapters are as follows: 1. Kitten days. 2. Travels abroad. 3.
