I’m a Great Little Kid Series

Ages 9 to 12 years. A series of six full-colour books and a Facilitator’s Guide, published in conjunction with Toronto Child Abuse Centre. Written in rhyme, the picture books are bright and cheerful, and carry gentle but empowering messages to instil confidence, self-esteem and respect in young children. Each book features a page for parents at the back, with tips about issues relevant to that particular story. For ages 8 and under. The Facilitator’s Guide is an invaluable resource for professional caregivers, educators and parents. It provides background information on understanding and recognising child abuse, coping with disclosure, and the legal requirements or reporting abuse. The second half is filled with fun and educational activities for groups of children, designed to reinforce concepts and messages in each picture book.
