Spelling Toolbox 3 provides a strategy-based approach to spelling. It begins with an introductory lesson that describes the spelling tools , and 20 thematically organized units on the topics of home, community, work, health, and writing. In each unit, the student learns to spell 9 words by using phonics, syllabication, word patterns, and/or a spelling rule. Dictations and an application activity are provided so the student can try out the spelling strategies he/she has learned. This publication is more difficult than The Spelling Toolbox 1 and 2 because the words are multi-syllabic.
