Born just a year before the Great Depression and growing up on a small farm in rural North Dakota, Msgr. Walsh knew what life was like for his parents and siblings in those difficult times. In the midst of such hardship he discovered his calling to the ordained ministry and was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest in May of 1955.
