What are the ‘stories’, images, thought patterns, the beliefs and the array of cultural codes that began to crystallize immediately after the Six Day War, through which Jewish citizens of Israel could ‘see’ and imagine the ‘territories’? What are the stories that the media, leaders and Israeli culture have told the citizens of Israel, most of whom came to know these areas for the first time? This book submits a journey in time: an attempt to trace the construction of the Israeli perspective in the first year after the war, as reflected in the public discourse of the period.
