The Chess Set

In the past, chess sets were completely custom made. No two were alike. A few may have been pieces of tree branches, or perhaps rocks and sea shells, things that only the players understood what function they served. A few were elaborate, and very, very expensive. This story is about a chess set that not only cost its owner a King’s ransom, it also instructed the owner on the best possible moves to make. Information that is available yet today.
