Detective Sergeant Luke Ellington is praised and acclaimed for his role in the capture and arraignment of sadistic serial killer, Clarence Campbell. He is subsequently assigned to find the missing daughter of politician David Seymour. Senior Constable, Sarah Bradley is appointed Ellington's 'sidekick'.

Their investigation leads them to Elise Seymour's ethereal bedroom. Here they find evidence suggesting that Elise had adopted a dual personality, had entered a time warp, and appeared to have lost touch with reality.

Ellington becomes obsessed with the case and visits the bedroom time and time again.

The case takes a dramatic turn when two of Elise's former associates are brutally murdered in separate incidences.

Ellington reluctantly puts the case on hold, when Clarence Campbell escapes from custody. Remembering the explicit death threats Campbell made against him, Ellington fears for his safety. A terrifying climax is reached when the two finally come face to face.

The Seymour case explodes back onto the scene when another person is attacked. But this time the victim becomes the victor.

A bedside confession reveals the identity of the murderer, along with the whereabouts of Elise.
