Following on from Walks around Headley, this book covers another dozen circular walks in an area situated at the west of the Weald, or roughly where the counties of Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex meet. Each walk has one or more historical themes to it, ranging from Roman times through to the early 20th century - but equally they lead you through a number of different terrains and places of interest, many of which are illustrated in the book. The distances to be walked vary up to a maximum of fourteen miles; there are some with challenging gradients and others without, and there is a mixture of dry and boggy terrain to be covered. In several cases walks can be split into sections for those wishing to undertake less challenging outings.
