Chinese Cinderella and the Secret Dragon Society

Chinese Cinderella is thrown out of her home by her cruel stepmother on to the dangerous streets of Shanghai where Japanese soldiers patrol every corner. She takes refuge with Grandma Wu in her Martial Arts Academy. There she becomes part of a whole new family, making friends with three remarkable boy acrobats and learning kung fu. One day the four children embark on a secret mission that changes their lives and the course of history for ever.

Chinese Cinderella and the Secret Dragon Society is an exciting fantasy adventure based on a true incident that took place in China during the Second World War. It is inspired by the many stories Adeline Yen Mah wrote as a schoolgirl in Shanghai to escape the loneliness of her own childhood.
