Paolo Veronese (Palo Caliari, c. 1528-88) was one of the great Venetian painters. Veronese is known for his large-scale decorations of palaces and villas in and around Venice (which form one of the highlights of a visit to Venice today). Veronese was influenced by Duerer, Titian and Parmigianino. His famous works include St Catherine, The Marriage Feast At Cana, and The Triumph of Venice., plus many paintings of Madonnas and Crucifixions.
