What is your image of a holy man?

A hermit like individual who seems to take no pleasure in life?

Kenneth Prior argues that this is a distortion of the truth. Those who are holy are involved in society, not escapers from it; they are so joyful they sing praise of God even under persecution; they bless God - like Job - when they are being physically and mentally tormented.

To achieve this level of holiness is not easy. We have to persevere in the face of difficulties and temptation. But the rewards are a life of maturity and an eternity of glory.
