Technology and Transcendence

At a time of increasing technologisation this book offers an interdisciplinary reflection on the role and impact of technology in society, focusing on the implications for human flourishing. It attempts to engage the Christian vision of the human person with questions concerning technological progress, drawing on an interdisciplinary base. It uniquely allows all voices to be heard in the conversation. It is divided into four thematic sections: Technology and Culture; Technology and Philosophy; Technology and Society; and Technology and Theology. Technology and Transcendence is aimed at policy decision makers; students and practitioners of cultural studies, philosophy, sociology, communications, and theology; scientists and technologists; as well as R & D personnel in major technological corporations.
