Larry’s Womb is a black comedy about a turbulent human trio - it takes a wry look at the current fashion for putting off having children until the last minute. The tyranny of the female biological clock has given rise to millions of chaotic relationships, where men feel press-ganged, tricked or otherwise decoyed into cooperating in this unjustly imbalanced scenario. For men don’t have a biological clock ticking relentlessly inside them, do they. At least, that’s what they’ve always thought. But enter Larry, a pleasantly unstable, gym-obsessed egomaniac who has become deranged by the realization that he’s 44 and has no children. Having spent his entire life refusing to cooperate with female biological clocks, he is now seized with obsessive mania about his own. He is so panic-stricken that he throws himself at Cordelia, a volatile gym teacher with frizzy blonde hair and a very bad temper. Her biological clock is ticking like a time-bomb, and the situation might be perfect for both of them were it not for the fact that Larry doesn’t love Cordelia - and he’s living with someone else. Her name is Maude, and Larry finds it almost impossible to live without her, despite the fact that her clock is dangerously close to midnight. Maude loves Larry to distraction, and she unwittingly becomes the pivot of this ill-starred menage.
