Full-Field Measurements and Identification in Solid Mechanics
Michel Grediac
This book discusses the main methods for measuring kinematic fields whose use is now spreading rapidly in the laboratory of mechanics of materials and structures. Photoelasticity, deflectometry methods and grids, holography, speckle interferometry and image correlation are thus the subject of dedicated chapters.
The use of these measurement methods for characterization of materials and structures is then discussed. Two chapters are dedicated to the main techniques for identifying parameters controlling behavior laws. The book ends with a chapter on field measurements by thermal infrared thermography and its use in mechanics of materials.
