Alistair. is a serious young man studying at St Andrews University when war breaks out. At first refusing to take part in the war, he soon becomes embroiled in danger and develops an unbreakable bond with his new gangster friend, Spider.

Calum. is a brash contrast to Alistair. Having stolen Alistair’s fiancee, he goes on to excel in the vicious fortunes of war, clawing his way up through promotions and entirely unafraid in battle.

Hilary. seems to be the polar opposite of Alistair, willfully obtaining a dangerous position aiding the French Resistance. As Michelle La Porte, she ventures into the Pyrenees and all around France, taking on the enemy with unswerving courage and bravery.
