When Sam goes to his aunt’s house in the countryside, all is not as it seems at the end of her garden. Intrigued by an old, rusty gate, Sam goes to investigate and suddenly discovers a world where adventure is always just around the corner and magical things can happen to anyone!

Soon, Sam is dancing with talking, flute-playing frogs, rescuing a unicorn for the Fairy Queen and tackling swooping, screeching cormorant birds on the coast with a hermit crab who is retired from the Navy. Anything seems possible and, when Sam’s mum and dad tell him that they are going to be moving to the countryside, Sam starts to find out a whole lot more about his magical aunt.
