LIGHT BOB - FROM BOY SOLDIER TO VETERAN FIGHTING FOR WELLINGTON This is the story of a very young man who joined the British Army at the age of only 15 in 1804 and spent the following ten years of his life on perpetual campaign in Spain, Portugal and France at war against Napoleon’s French army. There are several Peninsular War first hand accounts by British officers and Light Bob ranks highly amongst them, but it also provides an exceptional account of the campaign in Andalucia - which is little covered elsewhere. Blakeney then moved north, transferring to H. M. 36th Regiment, where his description of the storming of Badajoz is one of the best in any Napoleonic history.
