Centuries ago natural wells were extremely important in the lives of people but today they are an almost forgotten part of the historical environment. The Llyn Peninsula is particularly rich in natural springs, many of which were once renowned for their spirituality and extraordinary powers. Many were considered to be holy and healing wells, much frequented by pilgrims.
