This memoir charts his experiences as a priest in the many and diverse parishes of the north of England throughout the latter half of the twentieth century, a time during which the Church saw enormous changes, not to mention those that secular society underwent.

Greaves here records and considers his responses to the modern world’s detractors, distractions and challenges to the Christian faith, avoiding dogma and instead viewing the whole thing through a prism of ever-changing politics, of doctrine and nature, while never losing sight of a benevolent and ever-loving God at the helm.
