Henry is the old pet dog much cherished by the poet, who finds inspiration in her love for all creatures whether they have fur or feathers or even prickles. Some poems also spring from observations of human life with all its frailties and small joys. Smile at the poet’s experience of tea drinking or jam making, for example. And share her regret at the passing of time as she looks back at a Christmas past or recalls her life with her mother and sister, now departed.
