In her earlier days country life saw chickens roaming freely, milking done by hand and working horses playing a vital role in the farm’s operation. But the author gives us more than a nostalgic look back to days gone by. We see the reality of back-breaking work, the worries of livestock health, the financial setbacks. And we get a wonderful insight into the unique world of horse care and breeding.
