This volume presents the proceedings of Section 18 of the Acts of the XIVth UISPP Congress held at the University of Liege in 2001. Despite the title, the minority of papers relate to museums; the ten papers focus on the preservation and restoration of Palaeolithic art and the history of prehistoric and protohistoric research.
