La cueva del Valle is a cave site located in the central part of eastern Cantabria which contains evidence for human activity dating to more than 9,000 years ago. This volume is divided into two parts: the first takes a general overview of the site, its location, local geography and at previous excavations and investigations; the second looks specifically at the excavations carried out in 1996, 1997 and 1998. The latter includes detailed reports on the cave itself and the deposits found within it, including environmental and faunal remains, ceramics and bone tools and weapons, and also features a series of studies on the lithic assemblage.
