It's 1977 in the Big City, and Little Beet finds himself wondering how he, a small-town vegetable, could possibly fit in with the dancing fruit at his new school. He does not look like any of his classmates, wear the stylish clothes they do, or even know how to roller skate! Little Beet attempts to hide under his stems when his new friend Strawberry invites him to Roller Disco with everyone after school. Elated, yet scared to try something new, Little Beet is wobbly and tentative at first, but he soon learns what he can do on a pair of roller skates. Has he found enough courage to sign up for the big competition?
"Dance to the Beet!" is about acceptance, individuality and the value of inclusion, told through the lens of a curious Little Beet navigating an exciting new world of roller skating fruits.
