War has been illegal for a thousand years. The nation of Studium has its laws governed by the Empire but its commerce controlled by the evil Slide. Farm boy, John Strong, and his girlfriend, Rachael Smith, who is the blacksmith's daughter, find themselves on the run after they have been targeted by the criminal organization known as the Bandits. His friendship with the Emperor is of very little help to him as Slide declares him an outlaw. Now John must seek the help of the Oracle to try and clear his name and get him and Rachael to safety but Slide seems to be around every corner waiting for him.
