The Ashmolean began when the wealthy antiquary Elias Ashmole (1617-92) gifted his collection to the University of Oxford in 1682. Today, the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology houses Western Art, Eastern Art, Antiquities, Cast Gallery and the Coin Room. The beautiful Camille Pissarro paintings in this calendar are taken from the collections and include works such as Sunset in Eragny, Autumn, View from my Window in Cloudy Weather and Farm at Montfoucault in Snow.
