The Modern British Army: The Path to Future Soldier, 2010s and Beyond details the Army's efforts to match ongoing reductions in strength with the organisation and equipment to meet the country's defence challenges in today's world. Emphasis is on the period from 2010 onwards: 'Army 2020' to 'Future Soldier.' Drawing on a wide range of official and other contemporary sources, The Modern British Army examines the policy decisions driving these changes as well as providing complete details on command structure, organisation, units, basing, and equipment. This allows the reader to follow the changes to the Army as it adapted to these often modified or even altered policies. The Royal Marine commando force and the RAF's ground protection forces are included as well as the Army itself. The Modern British Army: The Path to Future Soldier, 2010s and Beyond is extensively illustrated throughout with color photographs and includes a range of specially commissioned color artworks. AUTHOR: Richard A. Rinaldi is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Yale University. Formerly a human resources specialist with the federal government, he has a long-term interest in military history. His The United States Army in World War I: Ground Units, 1917--1919 was published in 2005; Order of Battle of the British Army 1914 in 2008; and British Armour and Recce in the Second World War: Units, Organization and Equipment in 2013. He cooperated with Ravi Rikhye on Indian Army Order of Battle in 2011. He has also teamed with Dr Graham Watson on The British Army in Germany (BAOR and After): An Organizational History 1947-2004 published in 2005 and The Corps of Royal Engineers: Organization and Units, 1889-2018 in 2018. 80 colour photos, 22 colour profiles, 3 diagrams, 4 tables
