The Statue at Dawn
paul devito
Paul is spending his final year of college in Italy as part of a group of Americans studying the Renaissance and learning about Italian culture.
On the plane over he meets the beautiful Monica. Both have Italian fathers and spent a portion of their childhood there, so he feels a strong connection.
However, as the year goes on, he feels strong connections with plenty of other women on the program, and Monica is not attracted to his philandering ways. Despite knowing this, Paul is unable to help himself, and falls into a pattern of brief, meaningless relationships.
Will he be able to connect with Monica before the year is out? Or will she forever be the one who got away?
