The baby is in the middle of the road. Cocooned in a car seat, tiny face suddenly, violently, illuminated by the headlights.
Detective Dove Milson swerves to avoid the car seat. Ten metres up the road, a car is crashed in a ditch.
Detective Steve Parker rushes to the car, while Dove attends to the baby.
But it's just a doll, and the driver is missing. There is a trail of blood leading into the woods.
