What if an enduring legend proved to be true? A legend that most people dismissed in the same way as Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster, Excalibur and the Tooth Fairy?
What if this legend spoke of priceless religious artefacts buried and hidden by Celtic monks from the invading barbarian hordes sailing to the British Isles? Treasures so cleverly hidden that they have lay undiscovered for centuries, waiting to be found.
Professor Declan Byrne of Trinity College in Dublin thinks that he has evidence to the whereabouts of such treasures. Evidence that he has outlined in a journal.
If true, it will be the find of the century.
But somebody else has found this out and wants the journal at any costs. They will stop at nothing to get their hands on it. Even murder.
And so, the hunt to find the treasure begins. Desperate measures will be taken to be the first person to find it.
Joe Regan, former DCI in the Metropolitan Police and now antiques dealer, is holidaying on the south coast of Ireland with his girlfriend, Maggie. He is retracing his family's heritage and reliving a few memories from his childhood there.
He had not planned on being suddenly caught up in a web of mystery and crime concerning Celtic treasures, drug smuggling and murder.
But it seems trouble follows Joe wherever he goes, and he is going to have to use all his resources and experience to keep himself one step ahead of the hunt and, more importantly, stay alive.
