Billy the Elephant & Other short stories

Oj Francis

For Billy the Elephant, anywhere else is better than the dangers in his native Ituri forest. Equipped with nothing but the determination to find home sets out on a perilous journey to the unknown seek a better life elsewhere. All-of-you the flying tortoise loses his wings and comes tumbling down the sky much to the delight of the angry birds whose kindness he had abused. Shelly the Snail has pity and puts together the shattered tortoise shell. Things turn rough for Douglas the Dog when he breaks his promise to Tembo the Elephant. He is eventually banished out of the forest and settles and forges friends with humans. Phoebe is that little girl who, intent on impressing her parents, deliberately goes against their ground rules. Unfortunately she is captured by the cannibal wizards her parents had warned her about. There everyone had given up hope of ever seeing her again, she is delivered to them by the least likely hero Todd the Talking Toad. Helma "The Naughty Nosy Girl" knows how to get away with appalling little deeds. She is curious, daring and adventurous too until she meets an equally naughty cow.
