I am, for the first time, just about to enter these doors. What seemed like a crowd of football hooligans were milling outside the theatre, surely, I must be in the wrong place, I WASN’T!

Through those doors at Clifton Drive have walked many wanna-be students from 1969 when, Brian started the Foundation Drama Course, to his retirement in 2001 he, along with the other wonderful staff, help realise many of them to achieve their life’s ambition, and work in The Performing Arts Industry.

This is the story of MY time there, firstly as a student, then as a member of staff which, without Brian, my life would have been much the poorer!

He also had his own unique ‘party pieces’ No one did Dame Edith Evans like Brian. I can still hear him now. A HANDBAG
