A fascinating insight into a black doctor’s romance, dedication, compassion, challenges, discrimination, achievements, betrayal and tragic events

This fictional story, set in 19th century Ireland, chronicles the trials and tribulations of a dynamic duo, Samuel and Dana, who meet under unfortunate circumstances as children. Samuel Moses, the black, charismatic protagonist, comes from humble beginnings and Dana, the heroine, an affluent white woman has everything at her disposal. As their worlds entwine, a destined romance blossoms, but the conventions of the time force Samuel to make the ultimate sacrifice, rejecting their mutual love, in order to protect her reputation. Their separate lives continue with a series of twists and turns. Dana settles into a new life and marries a wealthy politician, and Samuel, against all odds, graduates from medical school and accepts a lowly dispensary job in a remote part of Ireland. Rejection from the locals ensues, but then he is hailed as the local hero, and he too finds love with a local young widow.

Everything seems to be going well until an unexpected visit home reunites Samuel and Dana. The embedded seed of love is awakened and still mutually pulsing, and as he wrestles between the love he has for both women, fate steps in and decides the final outcome.
