This is the second in the Inspector Mackenzie stories, after his return from Edinburgh his wife who had to go and visit her sick sister encouraged her husband to tale a well earned rest and go on a fishing trip with Jock Murray. The two old friends headed off to the Orkneys to spend a week fishing but they ended up catching more than fish.
