Mi padre, Anibal Gomez Ortega, relataba que sus antepasados eran canarios y que arribaron a Margarita en un buque, cuyo mastil sirvio de base a la Quinta Santa Rita en el Valle del Espiritu Santo. Este mito primordial de nuestra familia, se anclo en mi mente, como la nave de nuestros ancestros en tierra firme margaritena, forjando un trecho del presente hacia el pasado.
