The Collins family, currently in Texas, came to the America's during colonial times and stretches back to County Antrim, Ireland then to Banffshire, Scotland in the 1600s, connecting them to the Kings and Queens of Scotland, England and back to France and the Merovingian and Capetian Dynasties. Joseph Collins' mother's (Barbara Weaver) line also came during colonial times and had immigrated from Yorkshire, England stopping first in Chester Co., Pennsylvania. Joseph Collins IV's (himself a nuclear scientist) family showed a remarkable loyalty to their new-found country and fought in every war that took place; from the Revolution and Indian Wars to the Viet Nam War in the 1970s. They were soldiers, farmers, business men and scientists; as well as teachers and preachers. Several of Joseph Collins' line can be traced back to Rollo, the son Ragnar of Norway who married a Princess of France.
