This is the tenth year of our annual creative writing competition and, during that time, imaginative children and young people of the county have made us laugh or cry, entertained and inspired and shared their sorrows, joys, hopes and fears. From primary school year four to eighteen years old, many have entered several times and their writing has developed and matured each year.

Sadly, this is the last year some were eligible to enter but, with their level of talen, if they continue writing, they could well become successful novelists, poets, scriptwriters or playwrights in the future. Some former entrants are now at universities studying medicine, midwifery, pharmacy and engineering etc. And we wish them well for the future. It has been a privilege to know them and we hope they will still find the time to write.
