Catherine Elizabeth Trueman was born in north-west London. She inherited a love of art and literature from her profoundly deaf mother who found fame as an artist prodigy in her home town of Sheffield at the age of two. Catherine was also encouraged to write from an early age by her father, a long-time BBC engineer and cousin of the late composer Madeleine Dring. Catherine lives in Bedfordshire and has worked as a journalist and editor for 30 years. Currently, her time is split between writing and helping with the family pub in Waresley, Cambridgeshire. Catherine has previously published two children’s novels: The Bone Cradle and its sequel Grey Amber. Ammonite - Collected Poems is Catherine’s first book of poetry and a concentration of her life’s work to date.
