The Night Gardener is a magical and mysterious picture book. Grimloch Lane is fairly uninspiring until one night a tree is transformed into a giant owl and people are filled with wonder. Each day they wake to another topiary masterpiece and suddenly a disengaged community is animated and socialising, puzzled and excited by possibility. Who is the creator of these arboreal delights?
The story and pictures are splendidly atmospheric and the detail will be lingered over as this charming tale beguiles young audiences of 3 and up.
