"BOOMERANG" is the second book in the series that began with "THE CHEROKEE BRIDE."

It is the story of three Cherokee Indians who served as scouts on Peter Jenkins wagon train

that crossed the United States Territories in 1849 from Grand River Oklahoma to Sutter's

Fort in California Gold Country.

This book is fiction but like most of my books it is based on a lot of actual facts. The

California Gold Rush period from 1848 to 1860 was a wild, lawless, and often dangerous

place to be, especially if you were a Native American Indian.

Jimmy Light Feather Chawkta and his new wife Maggie travel with their closest friend

Fighting Bear Reynolds through this dangerous country at the height of the gold rush

and together they experience most, if not all, of the trials and tribulations that the Native

American population had to deal with.

If you are not a history buff this book will open your eyes to a society that was ruthless,

disrespectful and ignorant with no regard for those Americans who had lived on their land

for hundreds of years.

Maggie, Jimmy and Bear are smart, well skilled with both animals and guns and are not

to be fooled around with. Did they survive, prosper or lose it all in their quest to fit into a

society that simply hated Indians?

You will see how their hard work, attention to detail and open honesty earned them the

respect of several people who became mentors and friends during a very difficult time.

The definition of "BOOMERANG" is a plan or action to return to the originator. To completely

understand this term and its meaning as the title of this book, you must read both the

CHEROKEE BRIDE AND BOOMERANG.
