Emery Aalokin is desperate to find a cure for the Withering, and to finally learn what happened to her missing parents. She doesn't know where to start looking for a cure, but when a lead points her towards a treasure that could contain not only riches, but the information she's searching for about her parents, she enlists the help of Captain Sean Denzel - AKA the Scourge of the Sea - promising him and his crew the treasure if they find it.

Sean agrees to help but Emery can tell he's keeping secrets. But she's keeping secrets too, and she isn't sure spilling them is worth risking both of their lives, especially when she can no longer deny the growing spark between them. What more, enemies new and old swarm the seas, and it's difficult to know who to trust.

If Emery wants to complete her missions - and survive - she'll need to keep her wits about her upon a sea full of vengeance and secrets.

Moana meets Pirates of the Caribbean and Avatar: The Last Airbender in the second book of this swashbuckling Upper YA Fantasy series, featuring pirates, elemental magic, secret societies, and an enemies to lovers slow burn romance with no spice.
