This author did a great job making each character; flawed, unique, relatable, and someone that you root for.
- ARC REVIEWER TORI MOORE, 5 Stars This book captures the characters at their worst, yet underneath the bad decisions and scummy behavior you can see what’s driving them, and how hard they’re trying, yet they find themselves caught in various traps and their humanity.
- ARC REVIEWER DARREN WILDERMAN, 4 Stars

From start to finish I couldn’t stop reading. Finishing this book left me in a whirlwind of emotions…would highly recommend.

SYNOPSIS:

Well, mom, you said I would never amount to anything, but guess what? You’re dead.

24-year-old songwriter Caressa doesn’t know who to be. She is directionless, in search of her identity, but recognizes potential stardom in 5 local singers. Caressa forms the pop group Fyerr and lands opportunity of a lifetime-until disaster strikes and changes their lives forever.

Six Perspectives, One goal What they search for comes at an unpredictable and devastating cost

CARESSA is the reason her parents are dead-a haunting secret she can’t escape. CLAYTON’s public perfection has only caused pain and blood in private. JESSI’s move to Toronto is a secret nightmare. KING is determined to find his father-even if he has to become famous to do it. JUDY devotes her life to helping people-but being selfless comes at a cost. MIKE is fighting within himself-a skeleton from his past clawing at his present.

Though drama and scandal fracture their group, Caressa is determined to take a wanna-be rapper, a real estate agent, a shelter worker, a university student, and her brother to the top, by any means necessary.

READER’S DESCRESION IS ADVISED:
Please note this book touches on the following topics.
Talked about/not graphic: mental health, mental illness, substance abuse, self-harm, suicide, and infidelity. Happens in some detail: domestic abuse.

There is lots of heartbreak, anger and sadness within this book, but it is all captured so well be JC.
-ARC REVIEWER AMY HEWITT, 5 Stars

JC’s background suggests she knows a thing of two about storytelling, and from what I just read I’d say she’s someone to watch.

-ARC REVIEWER KATHRYN PALUMBO, 5 Stars

There are certainly no slow parts, it’s full of twists and revelations throughout the entire book.

-ARC REVIEWER HAYLEY RINGROSE, 4.5 Stars

It can be a challenge for some authors to write from multiple perspectives. But I have to say, JC Brown has nailed it.
-ARC REVIEWER DANIELLE LEMON, 4 Stars
